Terms & Conditions of Application to Applause Theatre School

1. Fees are calculated so that equal monthly amounts are payable, with the exception of August. The amount payable for the whole year will be divided by 11.

2. A registration fee of £15 is payable when you hand in your application form. Should there not be a place, your child's name will be put on a waiting list until such a place is available.

3. Invoices are payable at the beginning of each month. Fees not received by the 10th of each month will be subject to a late penalty fee of £3.

4. The school will be open for 39 weeks per year, term time only, with the exception of a Summer school each August.

5. Pupils of Applause must not be pupils of any other professional theatre school. If found to be attending another school elsewhere without permission from the principle, classes will be cancelled and fees retained.

6. Your place at the school is permanent. One months notice of termination is required or fees paid in lieu.

7. If your child is absent, payment of fees must still be made as your child's place is retained for them until notice of termination.

8. Once your child has left the building, Applause can not be held responsible for their safety.

9. The school can not be held responsible for items left on the premises.

10. Pupils who are disruptive will be given a verbal warning by the principle. If the behaviour continues a written warning will be sent home to parents. Should the problem still persist the pupil will be asked to leave, forfeiting all fees.

11. Applause reserves the right to remove any pupil from a class if they feel it is no longer beneficial to the child.

12. Mobile phones must be switched off during class, unless a specific request has been made to keep it on. (Emergencies only)

13. Chewing gum and eating in class is not permitted by the school. Drinks may be brought into class as long as they are brought in suitable containers (i.e. sports caps)

14. Extra tuition and class fees will be payable when you child is involved in a show, examinations or festivals. Prior notice will be given. Parents will have the option to pay by instalments.

15. Costume fees will be payable when your child is involved in a show. Parents will have the option to pay by instalments.

16 Each pupil will be expected to wear the Applause school uniform to class (t-shirt or sweatshirt) and suitable clothes for physical activity (Available through the school, please ask the principle for details)

17 The fee to join the casting agency is £40. This includes photos to promote your child and entry in a brochure that will be available for directors, etc. Your child's safety will be upheld at all times, ensuring that brochures are sent out to genuine professional organisations only. Personal details will only be given out should your child secure a genuine casting. A responsible adult is expected to attend castings at all times. Photos for parents will be available to purchase directly from the photographer.
